(WINDSOR, ON) – Windsor TFC and Windsor TFC Academy have announced today the commitment of five Academy players to the 2018 roster of the Windsor Lancers. Robert Moy, Paul Di Meo, Luka Tojcic, Max Cooney, and Francesco Barile will join former Windsor TFC head coach Steve Vagnini at the Lancers and compete in the upcoming OUA season.

This is the culmination of a lot of hard work by the players at the Academy level and now they will compete at a higher calibre,” said Anthony Di Meo, head coach of Windsor TFC’s Senior Academy team. “We’re proud to help develop the next generation of Windsor Lancers stars.”

In addition to their scheduled matches for the Academy side in 2017, the future Lancers played a combined 23 games for Windsor TFC’s senior side in League 1 Ontario play, and accounted for 2 goals.

Cooney and Tojcic are graduates of Riverside High School while Barile and Moy played at St Anne’s, and Di Meo is a product of the Holy Names program.

The Windsor Lancers compete in the OUA West Division and the regular season will start at the tail end of August.

Windsor TFC is a member club in League 1 Ontario’s West Division and will begin play near the end of April.
